:: Elective and Holiday ::

It has been 8 weeks since my holiday in Malaysia. It was never meant to be a holiday as my duty to come back is to complete my elective for my medical course. The elective is a part of my medical undergraduate program in order to graduate from the class with flying colour. As my elective was not-so-heavy like my ‘usual’ classes in Jordan, I take my chances to have a happy and merrier holiday than I already had 4-5 years before.

I did my elective posting here in Kajang Hospital. The hospital is situated far away from my house and about 30 minutes to an hour from my house by car. But I never regret it because I chose to be with my friends for the entire course. I began my elective with Emergency Department following by Obstetrics and Gynaecology and then Internal Medicine with 2 weeks duration for each discipline. It was fun and joyful as the environment of each department was really friendly. We had chances to intervene in certain procedures such as blood taking, iv cannulation, bladder catheterization, dressing, suturing and etc although we are just students. We also had chances to deliver a baby, clerking patients, suturing and repairing during my stay in Obstetrics and Gynaecology department with cooperation from friendly and lovely doctors and nurses. After we had completed our weeks in each discipline, we were given responsibility from the university to have ourselves evaluated, maybe, just for evidence that we are doing our job.

And for the rest of my story, I just put pictures because if you want me to tell you the entire story of my holiday, it won’t be enough time and ‘a picture is worth more than a thousand words ‘, isn’t it?. So enjoy it.
